October brought us back to Golden Gate Park for a festive afternoon of grilling and enjoying the “Indian Summer.” Chef Bruno made enough chicken for two parishes and we had a great turnout for our annual outdoor feast. Special thanks to Bruno for all his hard work, securing the picnic grounds and doing all that cooking. Click on the photograph for more pictures!
This past Easter Sunday, the congregation at St. Cyprian’s celebrated the initiation of its newest member, Kimberly Watts. The baptism of Kim in front of her friends was a wonderful occasion - the Church looked great and the food afterwards was delicious (as always, thanks to the ECW). On November 12, 2006, the newly elected Bishop of California, the Right Reverend Marc Andrus, visited St. Cyprian’s for an evening service of hymns. The bishop spoke to our congregation about his previous experience as Bishop Suffragan in the Episcopal Diocese of Alabama, his hopes for a small congregation like ours, and his plans to be a leader in searching for peaceful solutions to world conflicts.
Before the service, the bishop met with the Bishop’s Committee, and afterwards, a reception was held with a delicious assortment of food prepared by the lovely and always reliable Episcopal Church Women.
